Here at Maverick Color, we want to make sure we get you the highest quality print solutions in a timely manner. This is why we created the File Specs checklist.
QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE
We do accept PDF’s, please make sure to include an 1/8 inch bleed.
We also accept native Adobe Illustrator, EPS, InDesign, Photoshop, and Tiff files.
1/8 inch bleed for artwork on each side.
Include any fonts used or outline before sending us the native file.
To reduce file size, flatten effects and transparencies.
Document size should be trim size. If not, please make sure the artwork scales proportionately at a rate of 25% or 50%.
Images should have a resolution of 300 ppi. Anything under that will print out at a lower quality. Images with a resolution of 72 ppi are best for the web and shouldn’t be used for print.
We do accept PANTONE colors using the Color Bridge Coated book. If needed, please include your PANTONE color in the file.
Printers print in CMYK color space, please be aware of this while building your files.
If you have placed your images into your layout file, you can either embed them, send with them with the file, or use the “package” feature in In-Design and Illustrator to collect all assets before uploading.
We accept print proofs as a reference for content and color.
Printouts should be at actual size 100% if applicable or indicate what percentage (25% or 50%) of the final size it represents.
If the document has multiple pages, show a mock up of how the folding and binding is supposed to look.
Please supply a color markup with detailed notes so the printer can understand the details of your file.
You can use pre-flight software or the “collect for output” function to package your file. It will include images, fonts and anything else needed.
